A bit further along in life, we begin to see the deeper sense of things, we start to recognize sincerity of motives and we come to experience purer emotions. That’s what’s reflected in the songs of this newly arrived four-piece rock group from the south of Holland: Wide-Awake. The name stands for: ‘being alert and aware’ and ‘seeing things as they are’. Carefully orchestrated songs, accompanied by harmonic singing and well thought-through lyrics, are both recognizable and surprising. Their varied set of songs are sure to strike a chord of positive feelings with all who hear them. Their lyrics display personal real-life experiences and interests, even some scholarly insights. And, when Christiaan, Simon, Richard and Miriam get on stage, their synergy is just contagious. After some try-outs, Wide-Awake is now ready to be heard, both fully amplified or ‘unplugged’.
